In the second fortnight of April it is celebrated the National Trout Fest, the Patagonian fishing meeting "Limay Classic" in Bariloche, organized by the Asociación de Pesca y Caza Nahuel Huapi of the city.
Official Poster of 1 Limay Classic (2009), Patagonian fisheries meeting.Fishermen from all over the country and the world enjoy this day of fly casting and spinning fishing in the Limay River with Enforced Release. You can participate in pairs, groups or individually.
The test is divided into three stages, one in the morning and afternoon of the first day and the third in the morning the next day, where participants must show their best styles and techniques to win the prize.
There are also demonstrations of fishing as a test of "Castanalyzer" by Marcelo Morales, from Buenos Aires Angler'sla, or a demonstration of two-handed rods at the headquarters of the Asociación de Pesca y Caza Nahuel Huapi.
The competition is strictly catch and release. If there are any trout that, at the discretion of the prosecutor, is not in terms to be release it shall be sacrificed and seated on the payroll at a discount of 25% of the score of the corresponding stage. In case you have to sacrifice two trout will cancel the total score on the stage.
The score is obtained by taking the measure of the length of the trout from the mouth to the tail, multiplied by the contour taken in front of the dorsal fin.Every fisherman must present their fishing permit to the supervisory board at the time of registration.
The winner is the participant who get the highest score piece, in case of a tie winner will be the first to have made the catch.
The event is organized by the Ente Oficial de Turismo Patagonia Argentina, who each year gives the performance of the party to a different province of Patagonia. The 2009 edition was held in Bariloche, 2010 in Junin de los Andes with a 40 fishermen and the latest edition was made from 18 to 20 March 2011 in the city and Trevelin, Chubut.
