Carrenleufú River Basin

The river Carrenleufú from the iron bridge to the international border with Chile has landforms that allow the practice of rafting in a setting of incomparable beauty. Its route is approximately 40 km.

In the river you can go fishing for Pacific salmon and sitrut trout, thus in recent years it was showed their migration to the sea. These two species are of high-sport power and it is not less the fishing of brown and rainbow trouts which are also part of the fish population.

Carrenleufú River Footbridge

The Carrenleufú river foottbridge is a place of extreme beauty that shows a trace of rock with perfect conditions for walking, horseback riding, fishing and trekking.

Encuentro River

Distant 5 km along it is Encuentro river with lush landscaping and between its crystalline waters it is a carved rock waterfall with a drop of 28 meters. It also has fish fauna ideal for salmon fishing.

Cajón River Waterfall

At the edge of the road linking Carrenleufú to Corcovado is a cascade with an ideal space for recreation within the family. 

Encuentro River Basin

The river is the geographical boundary with Chile where it is the international bridge with waterfalls. A place for the development of camping and promoting of salmon sport fishing. Ideal for family recreation as the water level is without risk. 

The best places to fish 

In Carrenleufú river is allowed the capture of a Pacific Salmon of "chinoc" variety greater than 70 cm per day per angler, as well as a trout less than 35 cm in length. The trouts are rainbow and brown. Fishing is allowed with spining and fly casting.

It have been captured salmons up to 20 kg. Ideally for salmon fishing is the craft spoon that is manufactured locally and which is available in local shops.

More catch hours are in the morning before 9 am or late after 17:30 pm. The salmon season runs from October 1 until March 1 while the trout season runs from November 1 to May 1.
