Mountain Film International Festival See map

In August filmmakers and fans around the world arrived to Ushuaia to participate in the International Festival of Mountain Film called Ushuaia Shh ...

An entire week for movie lovers, fans, filmmakers and the general public to enjoy the seventh art. Tourists from around the country and the world come together in this exchange of experiences and knowledge with the ideal frame ... the mountain.

Ushuaia SHH ... seeks to create a link between people and the environment through knowledge and promotion. Used as triggers for the films's ideas are ecology, sports, conservation, expeditions or historical figures, to be discovered or rediscovered by others.

The invitation to participate in this festival is open to artists, filmmakers and national and international students interested in competing.

The festival takes place in the course of a week in which there will be lectures, shorts, feature films, documentaries, photographs and activities that will be living in one of the most southerly places in the world. Since the organization the festival is proposed as a "coexistence between man and the mountain environment, looking for conservation awareness among many elements in a city that lives on the slopes of the Cordillera de los Andes."

The films may be in the instance of showing or competing. Producers and/or independent filmmakers, national and/or foreign, can participate. Foreigners interested in submitting material should contact the Embassy of Argentina in their country of residence to see if they can provide transportation.

Some of the mentions are:

* Best Feature,
* Best Short Film
* Prize for the feat,
* Best Photography
* Best Character.

The festival is divided into the following sections:

- International competitive section for feature films: for movies in any format, from any country of origin with a minimum of 60 minutes.

- International competitive short film section: for shorts in any format, from any country of origin with a maximum of 20 minutes.

- International non-competitive section show: for movies of any length.
